A GOOD SELECTION OF BALCONY CROPS
Space is often a major factor when attempting to grow crops on a balcony, and because of this, it is advisable to select plants that grow well in confined spaces. A good selection of herbs and leafy greens can easily be reared on a balcony, but they must be planted in appropriate-sized pots, of at least 6 to 12 inches deep, to ensure good root development. The use of a high-quality organic potting mix should be employed as this will provide essential nutrients. A good drainage system, to keep the soil consistently moist, should also be used and all plants should be placed in a position that receives as much daily sunlight as possible.
