SIZE IN THIS CASE MATTERS!
The need for gardening tools is solely dependent on the size of the garden to be cultivated. Growing fresh produce for a balcony garden for example is a small-scale operation and mainstream gardening tools generally will not required for this. This type of garden requires a great deal of work to be done with very basic tools and the hands, so a good set of gardening gloves and a small potting spade might be the only investment required for this. To be able to cultivate a successful organic garden in a conventional sense, however, some basic tools are required.
The fundamental tools required for a medium-sized organic garden are:
A hoe
A large spade
A weeder
A rake
A fork
A small potting spade
It may also prove prudent to purchase a good range of pots of various sizes. Small pots will be used to cultivate seedlings and larger pots may be needed for crop transfer during the winter months.
